Best practices for school bomb threats
Our nation's schools and first responders now have a unique, interactive tool to help them prepare for bomb threats.

"School Bomb Threat Response," distributed to education and law enforcement personnel around the country, shows schools, state and local law enforcement and public safety agencies how to work together to solve this all-too-common problem.

Developed jointly by the U.S. Department of Justice's Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and the U.S. Department of Education's Office of Safe and Drug Free Schools (OSDFS). The program helps the various parties establish common goals and a clear division of responsibilities – before a problem arises.

Powerful and customizable
The free CD-ROM employs video interviews with bomb threat experts – along with a powerful virtual reality scenario – to teach everyone involved how to evacuate a school properly. The 90-minute program also includes a flexible 15-step process, printable PDF files for training purposes, and a customizable PowerPoint® presentation. The training program, developed and produced by Stonehouse Media Incorporated®, helps public and private schools document threats, assess them, follow up on incidents, review their procedures and implement preventative measures. In addition, it suggests ways schools and community responders can build trust and pre-plan to work as a team and provide safety to our schools.

Over 100,000 copies distributed
Thanks to efforts by ATF and OSDFS, more than 100,000 CD-ROMs have been distributed to schools and emergency responders. An additional 32,000 copies were ordered from www.threatplan.org. This production also won a Telly Award.

Selling the benefits of chlorine-free chemicals in 3-D

Shortly before Arch Chemicals, Inc. bought the company, Avecia Pool and Spa Products asked Stonehouse Media Incorporated® to help it solve a major training problem.

The task: to educate thousands of retail-industry employees across the country on the benefits and proper use of Avecia's low-maintenance and often chlorine-free chemicals for pools and spas.

Avecia needed a clear and consistent training program for its U.S. dealers, and that's what Stonehouse Media Incorporated® provided … plus more.

Latest version for Arch Chemicals adds new capabilities
Using video acquired in high-definition, 3-D animation, graphics, audio and interactivity, "Tutor: Pathways to Clarity" highlights the proper use of the various chemicals and helps salespeople present the correct features and benefits to prospective customers.

Stonehouse Media Incorporated® organized the subject matter by product lines, made the content easy to navigate, shot the original footage in high-definition, and produced the program on an interactive CD-ROM in HTML.

Employees can be certified right from their computer through a customized Learning Management System. Equally important, managers can quickly see who has completed the training via a powerful, online, backend interface.

Tip:
Before you start a project, talk to us about your objective, and where your audience will be viewing the product. Learning on a computer screen is dramatically different from reading or listening in a different setting. We know how to make education impactful on the screen, and will be glad to show you successful case studies.
