The Cat Friendly Practice Program
The American Association of Feline Practitioners (AAFP) is the professional association of veterinarians and veterinary professionals whose practices include feline patients. AAFP developed the Cat Friendly Practice Program (CFP) to offer a designation that demonstrates the veterinary practice’s commitment to providing top quality care for cats in a safe, welcoming environment. Knowing that veterinarians have very limited time, The American Association of Feline Practitioners wanted to place the application and approval process for the program online so it was accessible 24/7 and easy for practices to use. AAFP selected Stonehouse Media Incorporated® to do the web development for the CFP web site, including graphics, multimedia, video production, and database programming. The CFP web site, which includes both information about the program and the full application process, is powered by a content managed system (CMS) that allows easy updating of the entire public site, as well as the elements of the application. On the back end web development, Stonehouse Media created an online application that delivers a registration and user tracking system, an interactive checklist, supporting educational resources and videos, and file upload capability. The full-featured administrative system supporting the online application allows AAFP staff to view and approve applications electronically, deliver program welcome materials through the site, generate and view statistical reporting, and manage the web site content.
